On 11 August, 2020, the Bridging Voices programme hosted a webinar focused on the work of the ‘Muslim Atlantic’ project titled “Race and the Politics of Marginality in the Muslim Atlantic.” The webinar explored how Muslim communities on both sides of the Atlantic are responding to renewed debates on gender, race and marginality. The event featured a range of scholars, artists and activists who have contributed to the Muslim Atlantic project over the past few years, including Zainab Kabba (Oxford University), project leaders Dan DeHanas (King's College London) & Peter Mandaville (George Mason University), Rasul Miller (University of California Irvine), Muneera Williams (poet & cultural producer, UK) and Abdul-Rehman Malik (Yale University). The webinar was facilitated by Tamanda Walker of the Forum for Religion and International Affairs.
