Momentum is the Edinburgh Festival's International Delegate Programme, which takes place each August and is delivered through a partnership between British Council Scotland, Festivals Edinburgh and Creative Scotland, with the additional support of the City of Edinburgh Council, Event Scotland and the Scottish Government. Each Momentum delegate is provided with an individually tailored schedule of activities, briefings, and meetings to help foster collaboration and exchange.
2018 US representatives
As part of the British Council's global partnership with the Rockefeller Foundation's 100 Resilient Cities, a delegation from Washington, D.C. attended Momentum in Edinburgh to explore how cities can utilize the arts to be resilient. The delegation included representatives from:
- Office of Resilience for the Washington, DC Mayor's Office
- The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
- Capital Fringe
- 11th Street Bridge Park, a project of Building Bridges Across the River
