In partnership with the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, the British Council is proud to support an exhibition from pioneering filmmaker, director and theorist, John Akomfrah, OBE. This exhibition will look at the history, memory and identity of African diaspora through three films. These challenging and distinctive films--Peripeteia (2012), Psyche (2012) and Transfigured Night (2013)--explore the legacy of the colonial era and the experiences of African diaspora after that time.
This exhibition is curated by Yesomi Umolu, Assistant Curator, Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University.
